Hey guys!

I'm new to litestep and I really like it. But one thing, Is there anyway I can get icons on the desktop?

Welcome. I just did a search for "desktop icons" in a few of the forums here, and every time it returned many results. There might even be a sticky thread about this. Feel free to post back with any specific question that you can't find an answer to.

Searching this forum can be irritating.

On the main page of each forum there are TWO search-links, one labeled "search" and a field "search this forum". One of these works, the other doesn't and it took me several minutes (really) to actually see that there was a second link.

Once you open a certain post there is only one search-link left and that doesn't work (you only get the buggified-message). So, if you did not notice the other search-option on the title-page you are easily left with the impression that searching on the LS.net-forum does not work at all.

Actually that was what I thought for quite a while.

It would already help if the non-working "search"-button was removed. (Mark: removed as in "not there", not removed as in "produces error-message").

:-) Sorry to bug again with things that seem like trivia. They aren't trivial at all. (But really annoying, sorry again)

ls.net needs qualified, certified and reliable developers to do anything on the site.

It may seem trivial, but searching a php file for "search", finding the code that doesn't work (the links to buggified message) and removing it are actually huge unwieldy tasks that could proove fatal to the forum if done incorrectly.

/sarcasm

DeV, mail me index.php and I will remove the irritating links.
I'll even time myself just to piss you off ;)

We have asked multiple times for PHP devs to help us out...nobody has yet contributed. We have one person that does what they can when they can; but between everything they code for we don't get much time.

And just to clarify. The search function that is listed as "bustugated" is attempting to do a forum search over multiple tables and it just seems to be too big of a search criteria for SQL to handle. Nobody has been able to give us any insight into why, it just fails. If we just remove the text then people will bug us to add the functionality.

Well, it can be solved with the existing working functions (per forum search)

Maybe just link the search to a page choosing which forum section to search, instead of searching all forums (which I cannot believe is impossible)
