Whenever someone gets a minute, I've got an interesting problem. Before I launch into any of that, searches of the forums and Google come up empty, and I'm running the latest version so far as I know.

Problem 1: Playback in WMP 10 has no audio for various file formats.

if that wasn't bizarre enough

Problem 2: VLC media player doesn't show video.

Normally I would think this was a codec problem, but I get normal results with the zplayer included in the CCCP codec pack.

Anyone else have a problem with this?

Is the problem fixed by reverting to the Explorer shell?

If you aren't getting video, hide litestep. I can't recall how it's done, but you can put in some code to map a keystroke to make litestep hide away. I had this problem with PowerDVD with some themes.

Malakim: You are thinking of the transparent pixel at 0,0 causing no video to be displayed.

Actually, when I disable litestep and switch back to default windows config, I get my video back. Still no sound with WMP, but I suspect that has more to do with installing winamp than litestep.

try using media player classic. download it with the XP codec pack and it works great for all media, and use winamp for the audio. great combination
