Ideas for a taskbar. Thread last updated on 2007-04-15 21:05:10

Ok, so I've had this problem now, where I'm a nub, and can't do much. with the theme I'm using, there is a vertical task bar, which holds about 12 tasks. After that they disappear and I have to close visable tasks to gain access to the others via the taskbar. So I'm fishing for ideas on how I could fit more tasks in, but still keep a decent amount of pixel (at least one hundred) width. Grouping would be a good solution, but I have no idea how to use it. Using xtaskbar-1.4.1 .

EDIT: Realized shortly after that there is a better forum section to chuck this in. Sorry. =/

You can use either grouping or scrolling with the existing format, or set things up to change the taskbar style completely when you get more than some threshold number of tasks. You can either spend some time reading the documentation in order to learn how to fix your existing theme, or download some other themes and look for one that already handles this situation. Sometimes it's easier to see a working example first.

Hey thanks, could you name a theme that uses grouping?

Got the grouping working, but I'm wondering if there is a way if I can make the grouping menu prettier. :P

***! So there is no module I could use to make the grouping menu more like the default WinXP grouping? aka, prettier and in a fixed position.
