I am trying to figure out where windows desktop search is located so i can make a shortcut to it, I cant access it because the search bar itself is tied to the explorer theme, and obviously thats gone :)
With LSXCommand can I link it it WDS?
No, but read the docs for LSXCommand and you won't need it anymore.
devilboy: you're wrong... WDS is a local search engine with indexing, LSXCommand cannot help to find files on your machine as I remember
dmak: unfortunaly there is no way to launch interactive WDS since there is a complex undocumented IPC here =( all you can use is a Explorer-like fast search (.exe file in the WDS folder).
Or try Google Desktop Search (MUCH worse with some languages such as Russian, but very good if you're English native speaker)
BTW LS really need some AppBar stuff to be more compatible with a lot of cool applications...
not sure what .ink file type is, but it has to be added when making a quick launch icon for it...
Ya that is what I was going for, I am tring to make a search bar to go in the popup menu.... thought it might be kinda cool. Dont hold your breath for me to complete it in a hurry though, I am not to good with programming litestep yet, but I am working on it. If someone know what they are doing and manages this I wont be disappointed :)
