Thinking about moving to Litestep, few questions.... Thread last updated on 2007-02-27 21:19:19

This is the only site I know that has stuff about Litestep, so if there is another site with FAQs and help threads can you please point me in that direction.

I've recently have seen what Litestep can do. I really like the look it gives Windows and would like to use it. I only use my desktop for internet surfing and downloading. I use my laptop to run Autodesk AutoCAD. If I was to switch to Litestep would I still be able to do these things? Also, is there any way it can harm the computer? I am ok with computers, not great, but I know a little, and before I do anything I just want to make sure I can't do any lasting damage to it. Also, if I don't like Litestep, is it simple to delete/unistall it?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys might give.

hm, as nobody answered, i'll do... :)
hopefully you haven't run away because of the ignorance to your post...

using litestep, you can do everything that can be done without it. so all programs will work. you can hardly harm your computer, and uninstalling litestep or just switching back to explorer again is as simple as clicking a shortcut.

other helpful sites are: ls-universe.info, ls-themes.org

I use a miminal shell with no visible elements except for a popup, which frees up those extra pixels for more toolbars and stuff - admittedly only a little but every little counts.

If you get into making your own theme you might be best prepared that it will take you some time...

Ok, I installed it and I'm liking it so far. But I can't figure out how to change which applications are shown in my quick launch bar (like a mac type bar.) I've tried finding stuff inthe theme file, but to no avail. Any help on this matter would be excellent.

It depends on how they are defined in the theme. Find out which module it's using and read the docs for it...
