hello all,
I have been using litestep for a good few months now, and am happy with it, it is great. But I found a great looking theme ecystep 2.0 and it is all fine and dandy except sometimes it decides to crash. I can browse as normal with any open windows but I cannot access the "start" menu or anything, the taskbar(s) have completely disappeared.
Could it be because I am overloading my very poorly equipped processor and ram? I am wondering if anybody else has had this problem?

sorry, i meant to give error message, but since when i was writing it, it had already crashed (hence the decision to post), I could not grab the message.
It is error in msimg32.dll and it also happens sometimes on a boot up. Thing is, it happens one time i boot up, and another it doesnt. Strange? Yes!

That may or may not be a serious problem, and it is not Litestep-related. It is very much Windows-related (GDI), and could certainly cause problems with some LS modules, or even the core. I'd try checing the version of yours (properties dialog), and compare it to one you can DL from the web. If the ones you can get are newer, try that. Oh, yeah, it should be in Windows\System32.

i just changed themes, and others do not give the msimg32 problem as far as I can tell.
Thought it was all going swimmingly but then I got an error in litestep.exe.... thats probably serious right?
Could this all be cause im running 98se? (p.s. im on an amd 1800+ with 256mb ram - 64 goes to integrated gfx, leaving me with 192)

Most (newer) themes aren't fully compatible with win98.
