Question of theme window colors... Thread last updated on 2006-12-17 14:46:25

I've been searching high and low for an answer to this question before posting so don't get mad if it's another one of those constantly asked questions.

I've tried several themes, but I'm having problems getting the windows themselves to fit the theme. Is there any other checklist I should go through to troubleshoot this that wasn't meantioned in:

http://www.litestep.net/index.php?section=4&action=view&catId=2&id=5388

A lot of the themes had pictures that showed windows that were colored as well. I can go in and do it manually to match, but that's really a pain in the butt and it still won't really match the existing ls menus.

Thanks for the help,

Chris

If you're talking about skinning windows, Litestep doesn't do that. If you mean just the system colors, most themes don't have that option built in. A recent example of one that does is this.

Ok, thanks for the info. While waiting for a comment I've been experimenting with windowblinds to do it. Do you think that's the way that more of the themes will go as time progresses or is it really just a matter of choice for the creators?

Thanks for the prompt response.

What?

It's a matter of choice for the creators. Create your own themes and you can control that factor.

True... I have a feeling a few people who are new to this might ask this question... sticky anyone. :p

Uhmm...there are 3 or 4 stickies on it already. Does it belong on your forehead now?

I dunno about you, DeV, but I have a really hard time reading anything stuck to my forehead.

I'd like to see you try, though. I bet it'd look kind of like a dog chasing its tail. :)

I was gonna say, "it'd be quite easy if you were a snail." Then I realised maybe snails don't have forheads. ***.

I didn't really see it spelled out in the ones a looked at. I mean I saw that there is a difference between a shell and a theme, but I didn't see where it actually said that they weren't traditionally packaged together... in LS.

Add to that I didn't find any of the documentation that many of the tutorials said was packaged with the installed files...

(insert eGangsta response to DeViLbOi's comment followed by, "but we still cool, just don't let it happen again.") ;)

LINK

Can we make it any clearer that you need another application without smacking you in the forehead?

Well I agree with everyone else that would be hard to read on my forehead, but yeah that's pretty obvious, I did all my searches here in themes... didn't really see that being in general... anyway, thanks for the link.

I have woken up with things *written* on my forehead before. That was a few years ago though, and we don't do stuff like that anymore. It wasn't anything you'd really want to read, either. =P
