Okay I downloaded the basic Litestep installer (Omar)

Now a few questions:0

1. How do I disable the taskbar? The right click gives me the same menu for app access, so once I find a way to have it also show the time and running tasks I am set to get rid of that bito' screen real estate. Any ideas?

2. How do I delete desktop icons. The desktop does not run like I am used to, with the ability to delete or add icons, or select a whole bunch.

Other than that I can say a quick comparison shows Litestep is eating about 12 megs of RAM instead of 26 explorer.exe does. That makes me a happy

So what do you still have 64mb of ram?
And just try another theme if you dont like the layout and function of that 4 year old theme.
The theme was great in its day but it is getting old now...

so why are you concerned about saving that whole 14M? you bought the ram to use it right? why make it sit there and not be used?

1. Try different themes, tinker with the text files. If you just want to up and remove it, there will be a *NetLoadModule line in theme.rc for something with the word "task" in it.

2. Clickonic. For any more, check out some very new themes here, at ls-universe.info, and ls-themes.org (I don't use desktop icons, so do not know the minutae).
