Regarding these two themes

http://www.litestep.net/index.php?section=2&action=details&id=1246

These have been released by a user here called 'Fatec.
Fatec did not make these themes, he has stripped the original theme for it's readme file, author name and original credits.
The only thing Fatec has changed is the icon size in the popups and font size.
Obviously he thinks these two things are enough for him to call the theme his own creation.
The theme was originally created by me, Cormack and have available to download since february 2006 here:

You can read the description for dull details.
I wouldnt normally be against a mod/update of my theme, but not giving me credit for my work and claiming that the theme is your own pisses me off.

What i really want to know is how i contact the owners of this site so they can remove these two themes?
I have a hard time finding an email adress

I have removed both versions of this theme from the site. I have also removed the user from this site as a blatent abuse of our AUP. Sorry for the inconvenience Cormack.

no problem at all, i never added the theme to your database so you never had a chance of knowing. i will however upload it now :)

Wow... I did a file compare and the rip is so blatant, it's kind of surprising.

And all he had to do was to give some credit for all the work, and i wouldnt be bothered with his release...amazing really :)

Credit or not, I would have been pissed. It's too close to the original.

True.
I've tried to upload the original and a polished 'mini' version but they dont show up on the theme site, i guess they have to be approved first?

Ya... it can be fast or take a day. It all depends on the quality of porn that DeV is viewing at the time you upload your theme.

hehe, ok.
Well thanks for the help guys, very fast response to my request.

Thanks for looking into it further xcal. Was going to try to give the kid a chance and compare them when I got home, couldn't from work. :( I was wondering why the bug fixes that were suggested in the comments weren't implemented. This would explain why I guess.

You also have the same problem Fantec did though. Themes uploaded here must be of the .ZIP type. The theme installer prefers it also.

Np... this was line for line, file structure and all. You should check it out when you get home just for the 'wtf' value heh.

I guess he just updated the rc files while he was in winrar :)
I've actually never used a/the theme installer i've always just extracted the theme, i guess i'll look into this when i have the time.

Same goes for bugs, these will be looked at, but i havent gotten alot of feedback about these on DevArt.
I will look through the comments and hope that people will post the bugs

Btw. As i have not used a theme installer, is it enough to just compress the theme with the zip format and then it'll work or is there a more advanced way of making it work?
Maybe a page about it, so i can fix the problem? :)

uhmm...it is in the OTS2 docs. But basically it is just a ZIP file with the folder structure like you already have. If you rename the .ZIP to .LSZ and double click it will install it for you. No .ZIP app required.

It will be a zip upload next time then.

Scandalicious!

Why would someone do that?
