desktop, saturation and alphamapping Thread last updated on 2006-10-03 14:15:46

i'm looking for a desktop module which will allow me to change the saturation to 0 but won't give me crap outlines of icons when i do this. i've tried icondesk0.66 and xdesktop1.7.6 but they both give me oddities around the edge of icons when the saturation is 0.

xtray and xpopup seem to have no problem displaying icons with saturation set to 0 and they have alphamapping. is this the reason why xdesktop doesn't look good when i try this because it doesn't have alphamapping?

i'm trying to complete some recent updates to my theme which include making the theme completely grayscale but the desktop items just look crap when i try it this way and i need to fix that before the next release.

any suggestions from you knowledgable peeps?

Cheers

can you change saturation with clickonic?

/me reads the docs

edit: hm, no you can't. If you've tried icondesk and xdesktop already I think you're out of luck, as clickonic can't do it. AFAIK there aren't any more [good/new(ish)] desktop icon modules.

yeah, ichecked the clickonic module and it has less going for it than xdesktop in terms of what i want it to do.

oh well. i'll make do with xdesktop for now.

cheers for your help guys
