Hi everyone,
I don't know if this is meant for this section.
If not please move it to the right section.
Anyways im busy doing a LogonUI using a wallpaper i found of this site.
Now the problem with that is setting up the coding for userpanel, lettertype settings + colour and moving the "sign off" icon/line to far bottom-right.
About LiteStep and iBDE it keeps saying missing Desktop2.dll and all the rest of the modules.
I don't know how to write the modules to get the whole thing to work.
And lastly i would like to know how i can change to boot up progress bar to something else other than the blue square bar that windows xp professional displays.
Any help would be appreciated,
Denjin
ok i downloaded LiteStep OTS 3.0.2 and applied iBDE v5 by Naruphon Bue.
When my comp starts this is what i see now.
Variable "dirTheme" not defined.
Expression: *script exec ! textreplace "$dirtheme$step.rc"
"scheme" "scheme blue\"
So what does this mean?
Does anyone have iBDE v5 installed with OTS that can help me here or through MSN remote assistance?
I've been away from the community for about 3 years and now alot of things seem hard to understand though i know they are not.
I can't even manage a logui with reshack that well even anymore -_-
Thanks in advance,
Is that version of the theme OTS2 compliant? I'm thinking it isn't. It was converted to OTS2 and posted on this site a long time ago. You may want to try that version instead.
I looked through all the themes on this site but i couldn't find ibde v5.
http://gef.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?LibID=6&SkinID=254 this is the one i downloaded.
This is driving me nuts...
Aren't all modules the same, isn't anyone out there that's using it atm?
Yup...thats OTS and not OTS2.
What do you know...I go look for it and it pops up in the random list. Seems like only
Green got ported though. Should be easy for you to port blue over based on that though.
Admin Edit : Posting all of the Step.rc was not necessary...REALLY
the original blue one by Beu has alot more options which i like, i can only hope to get it ported to OTS2 the EXACT way Bue wrote it his step.rc but updated.
http://img129.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bluedesksm9.png this is what it looks like, broken, the wallpaper and the taskbar [part of] is missing. the rest works well
One is called theme.rc and the other is called step.rc because they were written for two different standards. That's one of the differences. If you want the original "Blue" to be updated, then look at how those two sets of code differ (e.g., winmerge), and make "blue" look like "green" - except for the color, that is.
i tried copy/pasting the code and replacing green with blue.
but im sure there has to be more than that because it became worse.
im new to this all.
hope someone can explain this to me in noob language.
thanks
yes! i got it to work, only problem im having for now is.
in the original code, when i press my win-key it pops up the menu.
that doesn't happen anymore, how can i change that?
Hotkeys are usually defined in the file hotkey.rc, located in your personal folder. That particular feature may be set by this line, however, located in your personal.rc file:
HotkeyNoWinKeyPopup
Comment it out to make the winkey work the "old" way. All this stuff is well documented, you really ought to do a little reading before you go any further.

I just loaded up the green version and it worked fine. The taskbar issue is probably a missing image that you removed accidentally or mislabeled. As to the wallpaper...you set that yourself. The green versions are in the wallpaper directory, but you will need to bring the Blue versions over from the other theme. Sounds like you really need to start reading the wiki as Boreas said. Hey wait a minute...doesn't he drive Nascar?
