Is there a Bang command to empty windows recycle bin?

Also, where do I change the keyboard shortcut that brings up the bang command window? I changed my shortcut and now can't remember what it is.

*NetLoadModule xInterface-0.4

C:\Litestep\Personal\Hotkey.rc

hmm... that should do it...!

1) How does "NetLoadModule xInterface-0.4..." help me?

2) I don't know if this is what you were trying to address, but I don't need a bang command to recycle LS, I need one to empty the Windows Trash.

3) Hotkey.rc is cool, but that doesn't have a setting to bring up the LS Command dialog. That setting must be somewhere else.

4) What is the default hotkey to open the LS Command dialog, I wonder? Maybe that will help me remember what I changed it to. Because I just changed the letter used, not the modifier keys.

Hey, I also meant to say "Thank you" for your response and help.

1) xInterface provides a bang that empties the windows trash. Get the module, read the docs. You're a big boy now.

2) See above.

3) If it's not in hotkey.rc, then it must be in your theme files, and only *you* could possibly know where that is. If you really have no clue about where to look, use the "Search" function in explorer or get a tool like "Agent Ransack" that will find the relevant command.

4) You're probably referring to the !run bang. I don't know what the default is (we use LS because we like to *customize*!), but for me it's Win+R .

4) Why don't you go look through your config and find what you changed it to?

win+r for me too

Isn't win+r a windows hotkey, not litestep?

It's a litestep hotkey that performs the same function as the windows version, so you don't have to learn it twice.

It's right in your hotkey.rc. Part of a default install. :P

For me, Win-R brings up the standard Windows Run dialog. The command line dialog I want to open is the LiteStep one: where one can enter bang commands.

Is that the one you guys get when you do a Win-R?

Nope, we get the windows run dialog. That's the only one that's available by default (!run bang provided by the core) in LS. If you're talking about lsxcommand, then that's something specified in your theme settings. There are no "default" settings for lsxcommand, because it may or may not be used in any given theme. We have no idea what theme you are using or what you may have done to the hotkey definition. You'll have to figure that out yourself, using some of the tips above.

Thanks Boreas, that explains a lot. Part of my problem was that I didn't know the terminology to use to ask a question that made sense to you folks who know what you're doing.

I'm using M3 as my theme.

Hmmmmmm. I did a search through the \Litestep\profiles\me\themes\M3\ folder for lsxcommand in any *.rc file and found nothing. I also don't see anything like it mentioned in theme.rc or themevars.rc at all. I wonder if this theme doesn't have it installed.

Well, that would certainly explain why it's not available any more. You can always add it in, of course.

hurricanedavid

Next time just go to your popup and look for litestep
then select about

This dialog tells you what bangs are available and what modules are loaded...

You were looking for lsxcommand...

@Immortal,

Thanks. I never knew about the About dialog. This may be the most helpful/useful one I've ever seen.

also you can get xAbout by Andymon :D (unload, reload modules etc)

Hey - we should ask Andymon to update that to be xPaintclass compatible so we can skin it properly. ;)

xAbout needs to be updated to properly show the version of LS you're running.
