I'm a complete noobie when it comes to Litestep and I don't understand what it means to be OSX complient or whatever it is. I also need help installing themes because whenever I do it, it cant download the extra stuff that it needs to run it at the beginning of the installation! Please help! Thank you!
1. OTS = Open Theme Standard. There are two of them (OTS and OTS2). They are standards for configuration so that themes can work well w/o being separate LS installs unto themselves.
2. NetLoadModule downloads modules using the connection settings of IE, IIRC. If you've got to use a socks proxy or something, it won't work. If IE is not allowed out, I don't think it works, either.
Or if you happen to be dialup and are not connected to the internet, it won't work either. Or if you use any product with McAfee on it. McAfee is the true name of the devil.
Satan McAfee. Hmmm, does kind of roll off the tongue, doesn't it?
Yes it does, in an evil sort of way.
Well snitch8, I just reported some of your nice comments over on customize.org so yes, I would say that you definitely need some serious help.
I looked over there - he can't figure out how to install cursors or icons either. Definitely a PEBKAC issue. =P
I concur. Are we sure it is a he? Sounds a lot like the old ladies I see driving(read: crashing gracefully) around here.
It's always safe to assume it's a he when you're on a shell-related site. It's just a sad fact of life. =) There are exceptions, of course, but you won't win any money betting on *those* longshots.
I thought DeV is a chick?
You can say, er, "gulp" that again.
