Crashes sometime after I lock my workstation Thread last updated on 2006-08-03 15:56:31

I'm on WinXP SP2 and I get hard crashes often when I get back to my computer. I've locked it before walking away, and I have the slideshow Windows screensaver (shuffling through images in one of my folders) going.

I'll come back to my computer, and more often than not, I'll see the BSOD.

I guess first thing is to kill my screensaver and see if that fixes it. It doesn't crash right when I lock the pc.

I just installed and am running the M3 theme. and am very happy with it.

Is there something in particular that leads you to believe that this is related to LiteStep? I mean, did the problem start right after you installed LS?

Exactly.

Update your core?

my core, you mean LS build (sorry, not good at this level of terminology with LS)?

Also, I turned off my screensaver, and have had to lock my PC and leave a few times since then and no crashes

Maybe a video driver-like issue. I do have multiple monitors.

How do I make sure my core is updated? I installed with Omar's installer.

get the latest stable build from lsdev.org and copy it into your litestepDir.

While litestep is *not* running. (quit/copy/restart)
