Dreamweaver and See-Through Video? Thread last updated on 2006-07-24 14:54:29

I hope that someone can help me here. I use and love Dreamweaver Mx 2004. However, when I have Litestep activied, it gives me a error. This error doesn't occur when I have Explorer set as my shell. It's a pain to switch every time I need to work on HTML. Is there a fix?

The error is: "This application has failed to start because mmcl20U.DLL was not found."

Reinstalling does not fix this problem, sadly.

My other question is graphical. When I minimize Windows Media Player Classic, I can see it on my background. I know it sounds weird, but if I set it to play and then minimize it, I can still see it there playing on my background. It only shows on black parts of the wallpaper, but it also happens if I put a black color over the window (Such as something with black text. The text takes the color of the video behind it.) Anyone have a clue?

Thank you in advance!

Dreamweaver: is that DLL in Windows\System32 or in Dreamweaver's own application folder (the one the DW exe is in)? If not, find it and copy it to one of those places, and see if that works. If it already is, then...?

Media Player Classic or Windows media player? Despite UI similairities, vastly different creatures (though I've not read of that problem, before).

The DLL in question is some sort of special DLL. I cannot download it off the internet, because every website makes me buy some package that includes it.

Also, on the video problem, it seems that it is whatever the fill color is on the desktop settings. If I set my desktop to no wallpaper with the fillcolor as blue, it will still show. This isn't too much of a problem though, I'm more caring about the Dreamweaver problem.

THe DLL should already be on your system - the question is where, i.e., in what folder, and could copying it to another folder prevent the error, like Cerbie said?

No, a search could not turn up a file with that name. Should I try the search without Litestep as the shell?

Are you including hidden and system files? It shouldn't matter what shell you're using - LS does not hide or remove anything.

Okay, I have found the DLL in the Dreamweaver directory and have copied it to the system32 folder. It still doesn't work. Do I have to register it or something? Or maybe a reboot?

No, wait it works now. Problem solved. Thank you!
