FBL Dynamic missing mzscript-1.0? Thread last updated on 2006-06-26 13:15:59

Hi all (and expecially xcal!)

I recently reinstalled Windows and had to redo Litestep as well (of course :D

I was using FBL Dynamic for a while and tried to get it going again, but every time I try to load it I get this:

Could not locate module:
mzscript-1.0-rc2.dll

I looked at the module doc for mzscript, and it mentioned that I need .NET framework, so I downloaded that as well, rebooted but I still get the same error. And I checked for this module, and it appears to be installed because I see this very same .dll in the \liteste\modules directory.

Any ideas why its still complaining about it ?

Hi tonij,

You need msvcr71.dll and msvcp71.dll in your \windows\system32 directory. You won't have any troubles finding them through a google search.

I saw that in the readme for mzscript, and I do have those files in \windows\system32. I noticed that there are quite a few of those files with the same name scattared around tho, is this one of those DLLs that breaks if it is in more than one place?

Hmm not sure about that. Try Dependency Walker on it.

Thats an interesting tool. I ran it on mzscript and got thisL

Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.
Warning: At least one module was corrupted or unrecognizable to Dependency Walker, but still appeared to be a Windows module.

One of the modules mentioned is Java...is that require too???

For msvcp71.dll it says "Error processing the modules import table".

All this is greek to me :(

Hey I got it working; I compared the .dll that dependancy walker complained about and it was different than all the others. So I took on e of the others and put it in the \litestep directory and its working now.

Thanks for the direction, xcal.

Excellent, glad to hear you worked it out. So what was the dll that fixed it?

The dll that fixed it was msvcp71.dll. For some reason the one that I had in \litestep was a different size than other copies of the same file.

*shrug*

BTW, still eagerly awaiting the next update to FBL Dynamic.

:D

Well, the update I was working on is kind of a mess. I ripped it apart, and now I'm being lazy about putting it back together.

I'm thinking about just restarting an update to it. Which version are you using, and what changes/additions would you like to see? Make a list. ;)
