there is no step.rc in anything i downloaded... not litestep, nor the theme i downloaded... in fact with the theme all i see is theme.rc... but thats not whats bothering me at the moment... wheres step.rc in litestep??

The step.rc is in your LiteStep dir, which is exactly where it should be. Themes nowadays should not include a step.rc file. Why are you looking for it? I really don't think the step.rc is something you should be editing manually if you're new to LiteStep...

I think he downloaded the actual ls zip file instead of using Omar's installer. Check the download section

well no west, it was not in that directory... however maoserr was right, i did not download the installer, i was under the impression that it was not needed. now i have installed litestep completly and am on that computer... but now i have another problem... i guess its time for a new thread since it is not about step.rc btw.. i was not looking for it to edit it, i was looking for it because litestep will not start without it... and even though i am new to litestep i find the language it uses in step.rc to be rather easy to understand (omg... i type too much -_-)
