Are you using a proxy server?

i dont think i am using a proxy server , in msn and ie, i dont need to set proxy settings.

i had a similar problem once on winxp. netloadmodule would download and the module zips would be in ie's cache, but nlm would refuse to install the things.

it worked again after making a new litestep dir. i don't know what that did, if anything.

what happens if you reboot and/or upgrade netloadmodule?

the only problem is it doesn't even download the modules at all.

Download the little Tool "Module_Gui-1.0"
http://www.ls-universe.info/download.php?view.35

Extract "ModuleGUI.exe" and "settingsipc.dll" in your Litestep Folder!
(Same folder in which your "litestep.exe" is located)

Then run Module_GUI choose the required modules and download/install all.

Hope this helps :)

when i try to download mudule list, all it does is say idle.

Posted by member 32550 on 2006-05-06 03:27:54 link

"Idle" is the normal display.
If you don't see a long module list in the main window after clicking "Update Online Module List", then you really have a connection problem (firewall, ...).

If you see a long list, click the checkboxes, select "Download selected modules to local archive" and Click "Start selected Task"
-> Recycle Litestep.

If nothing works then visit the module sites directly and download the required modules to the folder "Path to your local module archive folder" (in the Inforamtion Tab).

Good luck.

You said that you didn't think you used a proxy server because MSN and IE didn't require you to set one. However, if MSN is your network connection it did indeed configure a proxy for you. Welcome to the wonderful world of shitty internet providers. Do not pass go...Do not collect $200.

Download them here:
http://www.ls-universe.info/modules_list.php or
http://www.modules.shellfront.org

If nothing works then visit the module sites directly and download the required modules to the folder "Path to your local module archive folder" (in the Information Tab).

i figured out the problem, in internet explorer, there were proxy settins (internet explorer was all screwed up), mozilla fire fox worked fine. i turned off ie proxy sets and it downloads modules. but a theme i want to use, "lite XP", keeps giving errors when i want to install it, if you have any tips about that, tell me.
