Litestep and freesurfer... Thread last updated on 2003-03-28 22:30:59

I use freesurfer to block popup ads in IE. Works flawlessly (and it's free). My problem is that whenever I load LS, freesurfer crashes. I also cannot load it in LS. It says "error 91 object or variable with block variable not set". Any Ideas?

You may need to contact the company that releases Freesurfer. Some applications are dependant on the Explorer shell because they do not yet realize you can change it. Many companies will work with you to correct the situation.

You could always try using a different browser if they won't fix it for you. I've been using Phoenix and it rocks. It blocks pop-ups by default, no 3rd party apps needed. I don't know how I ever surfed before I got tabbed browsing.

Try CrazyBrowser or Shellweb. Both are based on explorer, multi-windows, popup-blockers... and totaly free.

You don't have to change browsers in my opinion. I use the Proxomitron for blocking (popup) ads. It works like a proxy server and it filters webpages. You can get Proxomitron from http://www.proxomitron.org and JD's Filter Set (a set of very good filters) from http://www.jd5000.net

With Crazy browser or Shellweb, you don't need to have filters...
Just say "No popup, please" and then...
