Comp won't boot! Thread last updated on 2006-03-28 17:27:49

Hi all, I'm pretty new to LiteStep, and I installed it recently with success. I then installed the Obsidian theme and rebooted. I then got a message saying the theme needed some modules. I clicked on the link to download the modules and all of the downloads failed. I found the modules needed on various sites, and put them on a flash drive. I booted into knoppix and tried to drag the modules from the flash drive to the modules folder in the litestep directory which didn't work because I didn't have the right "permissions" to modify the folder. So right now I'm stuck with a useless computer! Is there any way to get this working properly? Or any way to just revert back to the default windows thing even?
Thanks ahead of time! I really do appreciate the help!

What OS?

And for clarity...the zip files go in the archive folder, not the modules folder.

MS XP Pro SP2. And ya I did put the modules in the archive folder. Sorry for not specifing those things!

Just use the taskmanager (ctrl+alt+del) to switch to the default theme, or uninstall Litestep.

xcal - How do you use the taskmanager to switch to the defult theme? And I know that I could uninstall litestep, but I don't how since I can only boot into knoppix.

uhmmm...from Task Manager you can run anything. Whether it be the LS uninstall or the Switch to Default Theme application.
