Im looking for more indepth doc's..being as the doc's section is down.
What I have been able to do thus far:
I Installed litestep via omars distro i had no problems whatsoever
What i do know thus far
Litestep offers the ability to make my system truly feel like MY system with massive options!
I know transparency is possable (like fancy nix desktops)
litestep does not effect my programs or how they work
I can have so much more going on my screen (alot of which just isnt possable with the native MS shell)
What id like to know:
What programs will aid me in my quest to creat my own unique look?
Are there any security risks? (backdoors worms etc) with themes and modules?
Can i have multi desktops like XFree86? (one for multimedia one for school work one for networking blah blah etc etc)
And am i right to assume once i get the hang of this its going to become very addictive?
Addictive? Naaaah. I only spend a couple of hours a day, 365x24x7, on LS-related stuff. No problem.
Hahaha i figured as much! i havent even begun to start really and all my searches have been about LS lol
found my old jasc PSP files and reinstalled em to get my artistic flow going just need more info must have all LS info i can get my eager hands on LOL i cant wait to dive fully in!
Right click your desktop >> Litestep >> module docs. You'll have enough reading for the next little while. =)
Read up on xlabel, in particular. It can do sooo much.
Nice Thank you Very Much!
I may have missed it but what lingo is litestep written in?
I am going to be going to college soon for programming and id love LS to be my proving grounds and my intro into the world of codeing
you dont gota directly answer the question as im sure you can all see i have no problems RTFM ^^ im a info sponge hehe
besides the more i learn about this program the more i want to help!
1) Consider LS config files as Unix RC Files.
2) There can be security risks with themes, can't really control those theme submitters.
Yeah, those theme submitters are nasty people :D
Especially those Swedish ones.
Mesotiny, upgrade your Litestep build to 0.24.7 Final (www.lsdev.org) and NetLoadModule 2.5.0 (search). Read the "release_notes.txt" from the 0.24.7 release.
Opps forgot to mention i am running 0.24.7 ^^ i truly just recently (like 6 days ago) found litestep
anybody wana point me in the direction of a good secure FTP prog (i know off subject! ^^)
filezilla ;) best.
Welcome to the life long addiction ._.
filezilla is reliable and it get's the job done, and above all, it's free.. (user for few years now)
