Hello everyone.

After installing litestep (using litestep_installer-3.0.2) it booted in to litestep fine. But now I cannot connect to the internet through IE. My linksys wireless software is telling me im connected to my access point and have an internet connection. When I revert back to the normal shell i can access the internet.

Anyone know why i cannot get internet access when using litestep?

Thanks

Olly

Did you wireless driver load?

yes. could it be that ive just installed xp sp2?

very very possibly. WZC changed at SP2 and if it wasn't configured since it will be broken.

Sounds like DNS isn't setup.

See if you can browse to an IP address, rather than a URL. That'll help pin down th eproblem. You might also pull up a command window and type 'ipconfig /all' and see what that tells you.

ill check and keep informed. theres something about this on the litestep wiki. doesnt have answer though, just mention problem with internet connection using a linksys wireless setup.

totally stumped now. Ive ran ipconfig /all through explorer and litestep shell and they both have exact same info.

thnaks guys but i think its a bit of a mystery.

If your IPaddress/gateway/DNS stuff is identical in explorer and litestep, but you can browse in explorer and not in litestep, then perhaps it's a firewall problem?

really sounds like an item in your startup that explorer recognizes and LS isn't.
