Why do people think its a different process to change the wallpaper in LiteStep?

Its the same way! Exactly! (control/display, or right click on an image your fax/image previewing)

Probably because they can't access their display properties with the usual explorer desktop menu, and they haven't figured out how to do it any other way yet. Personally, I prefer to view my wallpapers in explorer thumbnail mode and apply one with the context menu - or let my theme do it for me automagically.

Mine chooses a wallpaper randomly from the theme wallpaper folder with WIN+Z... it's pretty nice actually.

I do it with the windows image previewer thingy... duh :D

i'm having a similar issue, and i feel fractaldesign & boreas are missing a subtlety due to their usage of alternate ways (image previewer thingy, automagic theme control, etc) to set the backgrounds...

control/display->desktop-tab has a Background list box which is normally used to change the wallpaper, but it is disabled. The alternate ways of setting a background are fine, but I am trying to remove the wallpaper entirely and set the background to a solid color. How to do this with the control/display->desktop tab?

I've noticed that themes which set a wallpaper (eg austerity, nonstep II) do it fine, and themes which don't just leave the previous theme's wallpaper in place, any pointers as to how to set the background to a solid color in any theme?

i'm running winxp and, if its not already obvious, i'm new to this whole litestep world

thanks

"control/display->desktop-tab has a Background list box which is normally used to change the wallpaper, but it is disabled."

No it isn't. It works just fine.

in that case, any ideas what could cause it to be disabled on my system? where to start looking?

can you suggest a workaround to set the desktop background to a solid color?

thanks

how is it "disabled"?

I'm guessing the wallpaper option is somehow greyed out? Not a Litestep issue, anyway. Sounds more like malware of some kind.

"greyed out" is right, interesting you say its not a litestep issue, seemed right up litestep's alley

thanks for the pointers

switch back to explorer and see what happens.
