I'm going to go out on a ledge here, but maybe click on the Themes link at the top?

yeah.. i even checked.. and no im not gonna just give the link to him, i wont spoon feed :)

But the theme section could use a little organizaion.. I know you guys are working on a search engine.. another suggestion would be to make the bottom links not 1,2,3,4,5,6.... based on pages, but based on the first letter of the title, going a,b,c,d... maybe this is easier than creating a search engine

It's there. Sort by theme name, with descriptions on.

DeV: Is it really so much work? Its a good idea IMO

lol I mean... what I had in mind was really really really simple.. it can go as far as...

a page with list of names of all the themes (not even screen shot or discription or author or anything, just the title), with links to the theme page (uhh the page you go to download the theme.. I don't know what to call it)

if you are really lazy, you don't even have to put it in order, since people can just CTRL+F for a specific search.. which would be helpful in this situation

now im not saying the page should be perminant.. but considering how much time it takes, and how much it can help, I think it is worth the time..

Implimenting features takes real-life time.

If you switched from 1,2,3,4,5,6 to A,B,C,D in our current format nobody would find anything. Currently themes are sorted by default, newest first and up to 50 per page. If you load it in Description view you can do the same thing with Ctrl+F so I don't see the point in the change. You must think about how many themes would be loaded on the R or L pages...and how usefull just seeing a name would be. Currently there are something like 500 themes available so I think it just won't work for us.

DeV: Well, for me it would make a huge difference, being on dialup :/ it takes forever for the page to load so I can search, and if its not on that page I have to make a guess as to what page it will be on...

But meh meh... until I can do it I wont moan :)

Posted by member 1 on 2006-02-17 17:07:35 link

actually it will make it worse for you depending how many themes are in a particular letter.

Posted by member 248213 on 2006-02-17 21:46:52 link

well, no. I will atleast be in the general area on the first page.

Posted by member 1 on 2006-02-17 23:26:46 link

only if you know the theme name.

Posted by member 206411 on 2006-02-18 04:07:06 link

which.. in this case he does?

We are no longer talking about this case though. We are talking about all cases in your request.

>> only if you know the theme name.

As opposed to what?
"hello, anyone know where I can find the 6235th theme submitted?"

Right now it's a really agonizing process trying to find anything. Best thing you can do is some sort of demented binary search through the pages. Letters would be extremely helpful.

no...its not going to happen. end of thread
