xDesktopSpacing_ Problems Thread last updated on 2006-02-11 02:44:55

I just started using xDesktop, and I've configged it and everything. However, xDesktop is bunching my icons together, as if SpacingX and Y are 0, or even negative. I have lines setting them, but it still doesn't work. And get this: when I type "!alert $xDesktopSpacingX$" in LSXCommand, I get "Variable xDesktopSpacingX not defined". I am using xDesktop 1.7.5.

Thank you

Hmm if you have xDesktopSpacingX defined, !alert should bring it up. Unless you didn't "Include" the file with your xdesktop settings? For your icons bunching up together, I'm assuming you mean when you add new icons? That's expected. Fix it with: !xDesktopCreate replace ".desktop"

You should probably be adjusting xDesktopItemWidth and xDesktopItemHeight, too. Are you sure that the file that contains the xdesktop config lines is being included? Are all the settings in a single file?

!xDesktopCreate replace ".desktop" fixed it. Thank you!

And btw, what does the RTFM in your sig stand for?

Read The F'ing Manual

:D

I stole it from something Boreas had said in a post a while back. =)
