non|step won't change colors Thread last updated on 2006-03-03 11:53:16

For some reason, non|step doesn't want to change colors for me anymore. I'll shift-left-click, then navigate to the color themes menu and choose a different one, but it doesn't change. Would making slight modifications to the color I'm currently using have caused this behavior? If not, then if I successfully get the color to change, would my modifications carry over (i.e. only the colors change), or would I have to redo them (i.e. a whole different config file)? Thanks!

What were your modifications, specifically? Editing .png files or editing .rc files?

It's possible that you tweaked something that shouldn't have been tweaked.

Ok, let's see here... I got rid of the VWM and the clock, added a couple buttons to the former VWM space, and added a couple of hotkeys and a timer. So mostly edited .rc files, and added some .pngs.

Bumb 'cause the problem hasn't been fixed.

And exactly what have you tried so far that hasn't worked?

I tried using non|step's shift-left click menu to change the color.

Well, rename your current non|step version to something else, and then reinstall the original theme from the zip file. If color changing works with the original theme, then you broke something. =)

Drat. Well, I guess I'll try this and try to go back and redo the modifications I did once summer comes... Don't have the time now. I was hoping maybe someone had an idea where the color-changing code is and/or how it's supposed to look. Thanks anyway.

I'm sure it's in there somewhere and not too difficult to find. I don't use nonstep myself, but since you do you're probably better qualified to find it than I am :)

That might be true, except I'm pretty new to Litestep and not very familiar with different commands and such.
