Hi. I am new to litestep. I am trying to get it installed and configured however it will not work. Upon install with the installer the default theme works. Also the Obsidian-v1 theme works. But any other theme that I download will not work. Litestep locks up. Is there something that I'm missing or am I getting themes with missing files. Reason I am saying missing files is I find a lot of themes and skins for other programs where people don't put all files in there package. It seems we have a few skinners who love screwing a person's pc up. But anyways could someone help me get this working. THanks.

Did you allow the new theme to download all of the modules it needed in order to run?

Yea the theme downloaded all modules it had asked for. I've found another theme that works too so I'm up to a choice of 3 themes. But the one I'd like to use is the universal metal one. This one seems to cause all kinds of problems. Another problem I did find as well is on the obsidian skin the desktop icons become big black squares. Thats not as frustrating though as finding skins that will not work and cause me to uninstall and reinstall litestep each time. Would it help if I downloaded all modules from the litestep site and installed them freehand. lol Time consuming but was a thought.

Make sure you're using the OTS2 version of UM.

For Obsidian, using the theme's settings popup, there's an option to reset the desktop icons. (The problem is the theme was released with NB's personal desktop icons.)

Ok i'll check these out then. One thing though for us users who are new here. How do we tell exactly what theme is ots2. I feel this should have been mentioned on the download page just incase new people come along. This would make sense as to why litestep is not working on my pc. I'm not getting the compatable theme. Thanks. I'll see what I come up with.

Look at "distro" when you go to download a theme.
