Attention grabbing IE :/ Thread last updated on 2006-01-17 12:36:15

Maybe a bad title, meh...

This is for tux to keep in mind for the new site version:
Make it so that when I goto http://www.litestep.net in IE, then minimize the window (while its loading) it doesnt popup/grab focus when its ready for me to login.

Its like "the" most annoying thing IE can do (other than suck complete ass...)

But if I can turn this off within IE (I have briefly looked) then ignore this ;)

Thanks.

Ok, I wasn't able to duplicate this, perhaps you can explain better ;)

How 'bout a nice big GET FIREFOX button on the front page instead?

Thought fractal used Opera?

used opera ;) now using IE (being a hick, using mums laptop, dont want to mess with her comp too much, yada yada)

The steps:

1. Open IE,
2. Goto http://www.litestep.net
3. Quickly minimize IE (before ls.net loads)

Instead of remaining minimized (or unfocused) IE will popup once ls.net is loaded.

Before the main page loads? Not possible w/o dial-up, I think :).

exactly my problem ;) (especially when eMule is running too!)

But I think its an IE thing, as Gmail does it sometimes too...

(It must be something to do with the text input field grabbing focus)

Oh well

yah, ok I see what you mean. Well it seemed to be an IE thing, the only way I can fix it on this end would be to disable that feature and I know people will complain, so that's not an option. So, hopefully they'll fix it in IE7 ;)
