ARGH! HELP! Thread last updated on 2006-01-01 09:43:38

Mkay, I'm new. I'm sorry if I do something I shouldn't do.

But I can't get ANY of the themes I've dowloaded to instal..

Also, I can't open up properties for the desktop. I had a theme running pre-install and forgot to deactivate it and reset it to the default XP theme.

1. Use the Omar installer from the downloads section, Make sure all the themes are OTS2 compatible

PS. Also, my folders on my desktop don't show an actual folder image. Is this supposed to happen, and how do I fix it?

3. That is supposed to happen and the only way to fix it is to hack some dll's up.

2. Oh well.

3. I downloaded DeskFolders. Is this supposed to fix that problem? And I followed the installation instructions... but it doesn't do anything.

about 2. maybe its because VS's are called shellstyles? so all the VS people think LS is like StyleXP or something... meh

3. Hacking dlls is definetly cool (hack all your .dlls and you can have a neat experience)

3. I might be a 1337 computer geek/nerd, but I never got into .dll hacking. And now I'm using Obsidian 1.0 and all my folders have their adresses in German and are nothing but black squares.

I think I just might go back to old XP if I can't figure this out by the day after New Year's.

Read the comments on the theme. There are some things you need to do before it works completely for you.
