Is there anyone out there who is willing to give me a crash course in LS. Im pretty computer knowledgeable, but LS owns me like a civ. I used to use it way back, but got owned back then too. The one thing though is back then when I ran LSTS it had explorer as an option and I could set my shell back to the explorer shell, this one I hit explorer and it gets rid of my current theme, and leaves me with nothing, what gives? Someone maybe IM me.

Thx in advance
go to EFnet (server: irc.inet.tele.dk, or any other
http://www.efnet.org server) and join up with #litestep. If im there i'll try to help you.
The EFnet #litestep has _nothing_ to do with litestep any more, except for its name. I wouldn't be surprised if you get kicked because of asking an LS related question. All LiteStep channels are on irc.freenode.net, the most active ones are #litestep, #lsdev, #fpn (not a litestep but a community channel for
http://pimpin.info).
The EFnet channel is useless... The freenode channel is very good :P
ilmcuts is the god of helpfulness :P
Thanks ilmcuts :)
any rooms on yahoo or aim that are worth looking at? i don't mess with irc or mirc.

You all still can't figure this out?
It's a stupid bug... that's all it is.
Microsoft never planned for Explorer to be replaced, so it doesn't restart it self properly.
Only thing you can do pretty much is restart.
If you are using a NT based system, you can start litestep again
but I guess that's not what you want.
Never???
Win 3.x (I don't know about earlier, because didn't use them) has some shells, different of standard. The most popular was made by !Symantec!
And shell= string in the Win95' system.ini is the direct legacy of them.
Yeah, explorer became a part of the system - it was associated with folders, iexplore use it and explorer use iexplore...
but it isn't full integration as you think, and in Win 3.x it wasn't too...
Don't say 'never'...
Best advice i could probably offer is download a basic theme that isn;t too complex...ie...(and i expect to get flamed here...;) not much scripting, no colour changes etc just basic everyday modules...maybe ots standard would be good. Install the theme and well just use litestep for a little while. Then just open up the step.rc file and study it and compare docs for each module with how things are constructed into the step.rc file...pretty soon you'll soon start to see how things come together and work. Soon you'll be making a few little tweaks here and there with someone else's theme..substituting graphics for your own...tweaking modules etc... Then you'll feel like " hey i wanna make my own theme..." Then you just start to experiment, fudging your way through things like we all do... like anything it's just time..be patient and before long you'll be posting your own themes and litestep will have become an invaluable indisposable godsend like it is to all of us... apologies if this is long winded.
