Are there any settings in xlabel that make it impossible for labels to show a drop shadow? I set AllLabelsDropShadow in my step.rc but I only get shadows on a couple of the labels.

Try it on a per label basis. I've never had a prob doing that. If you're trying to get it to blanketly work for all themes, that won't be compatibly with a lot of them.

they need to be ontop to have shadows (its a windows thing)
