Changing Litestep for only one user Thread last updated on 2005-12-23 09:50:51

I installed Litestep under administrator mode, and it said I would have the option to make it work for only one user. I installed it, and it made it so it applied to every user account. Can someone tell me how to make all the other user accounts go back to normal. Or, if that isn't possible, explain how to uninstall it. This is on Windows XP Pro. Thanks for your help.

run the setshell utility.

er, how many users do you wnt to change back?

if its >5 I would uninstall LS, then manually install it just for me. (or maybe run the installer just for me)

Yeah, uninstall it, then after a restart (just for safety), re-install it, this time telling it only your user will use it.

weazzle, using the installer is definitely the prefered way to manage this. However, if you are wanting to better understand how to control individual shell user shell usage, after installing, upgrade to v0.24.7 final, then read the release_notes.txt (see INSTALL section) included with that build. In there contains a fairly detailed description of your various options when setting LiteStep as the shell.
