Hi, I'm new here. I saw LiteStep the other day, and it looked cool. I'm not averse to config through files (heck, i'm a vb(6|.NET) and c(++|#) programmer), and litestep looked interesting, so I thought I'd try it out. I just have one bug, of sorts. Whenever I try to put the comp on standby/hibernate (I have an IBM Thinkpad), Windows complains that the driver for my keyboard is preventing the machine from going on standby. I've tried disabling hotkey.dll, reasoning that thats the one capturing the keyboard. No luck. Tried going into device manager and adjusting standby settings for the keyboard, but the keyboard doesn't even have standby settings! I'm really at the end of my tether here, so could someone please help me?
Thank you.

try loading litestep with no modules (comment everything in "$litestepdir$step.rc"), then with 1 of the modules you use then 2 etc until you figure out what module it is.
If you cant standby with everything in "$litestepdir$step.rc" commented out, try some different builds (in the downloads section)
It's always the Thinkpads...
OK, thanks guys, but I have just discovered it's not a Litestep problem (unless Litestep keeps a part of itself in memory while other users are logged on), because when I tried to hibernate with the LiteStep profile logged off and an explorer.exe profile logged on, the same error occurred (and I did install some other programs on the day I installed Litestep...)
So, I have three questions/requests:
1) Does Litestep keep a part of itself in memory while other users are logged on?
2) If not...
2a) Does anyone know of a tool that will help me find out which program is grabbing the keyboard? (Unfortunately, I've forgotten what other programs I'd installed on the day)
2b) Could you please move this post to the offtopic forum (it does not have anything to do with litestep anymore...)
Thank you
1. If you log off, it quits. There's nothing sitting in the background.
2a (cant you search by time? or would there be too omany hits?)
