Any idea if Litestep will be able to work with Win Vista or if there are any plans on moving it to this new operating system. I luv me some litestep but worried the new OS wont allow it?

In Litestep's current state, it will not work on Vista (I tried just for fun). You can pretty much count on Litestep being updated to work on Vista, though.

they'd need to reqrite a lot of litestep to work in vista if they want it to be competative with Aero. First and foremost they need to make it be able to run off of 3D hardware, and add a bunch of features. But I know they cna do it and i'm looking forward to it :-D

This thread is over a year old.

But, anyway, no, Litestep wouldn't need to run off of 3D hardware. While a litestep theme can be made to look great, I don't believe it's the primary reason someone uses it.

We run off of 3D hardware now. Can anyone name a video card that is left that only does 2D? I still don't understand what is so great about running a "3D" desktop that is only 2D. Until I can rotate a window on the horizontal or vertical...it isn't 3D.

Last 2D only card I used... a matrox millennium 1 (original). It had 2 megs and it was so badass a the time. Before that, an ati mach64. :D
