Problem with lssyndication Thread last updated on 2005-12-02 10:18:19

Apparently I can't load a feed from a php link. Specifically, this feed: (http://btmusic.org:2710/rss.php) won't load. I just get the No Data error from LSS. Any 'straight' links to an xml file (such as ls-universe's) work alright, so I'm assuming this has to do with the php going on...

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Any workaround? Or is this a problem on my side?

Probably has to do with the link needing a username/password.

That is possible...

However, I have had no problem adding it to my firefox bookmarks, and was not asked for a username/password.

Is there a way to supply a user/pass to lssyndication? I don't see that mentioned anywhere in the docs...

edit: Actually, yes, it does require a user/pass. Bummer. Anyway to configure LSS to use them?

Wonder if...
http://login:pwd@address

...will work? I know that's the format for ftping through a browser. Try something like...
http://login:password@btmusic.org:2710/rss.php

...replacing login/password with your login and password, of course.

That appears to work in firefox, allowing me to manually download the .xml even when logged out, but not with lssyndication =\

try RSSReader.dll ... or Wazup.dll ... or external news application...

i'll give rssreader a try, thanks for the suggestions. As for external news applications, i've looked around a bit, but couldn't really find what i was looking for. I just want a simple little widget-ish thing on my desktop scrolling new torrents.
