In reply to my recent thread being locked... Thread last updated on 2005-12-01 06:51:42

i noticed that my recent thread was locked, even though a valid answer had not been posted. i have tried altering the maxwidth value, and it did not produce the result i was looking for. frankly i feel that the replies which i got in the other thread were quite rude an uninformative.

You were answered. "maxwidth"

The tone of the response was due to the fact that it was extremely obvious. It's not like the setting is some obscurely worded code.

lol, your sig is great xcal.

thomaskirk:
change
PopupMaxWidth "500"
to
PopupMaxWidth "$ResolutionX$"
or some large number (like PopupMaxWidth "20000000")

Now I remember why the litestep.net forums are so much fun...

thank you for the reply. a note to anyone else trying this: it can be a good idea to put this setting in the theme.rc instead of the popup.rc. that did the trick for me. the fact that i was unable to get the desired result by simply editing the popup.rc was the reason that i was dissatisfied with the thread being locked: the answer which i was given did not produce the desired results.

but once again, thank you for the answer.

the reason why it belongs in the theme.rc instead of the popup.rc or personal.rc is that the graphics may not stretch that far and look proper.

ok...I'm not sure what you mean concerning popup.rc vs theme.rc (I'm not sure if you were referring to your personal popup.rc or the themes popup.rc)...but really, all you had to to was remove the
PopupMaxWidth "500"
value entirely. but dev has a good point, depending on the graphics, it may look crappy without a set width.

i was talking about the theme's popup.rc, and i am sorry for not making that clear. the graphics do stretch just fine.
