I want to make an ultimate sexy pendulum theme. Thread last updated on 2008-07-24 10:05:32

Well, ok, it's just an idea, and I have to get more familiar with LS's coding, but it goes along something like this:

There will be a swinging pendulum in the background. I have never seen a dynamic background in any Litestep theme, so I wonder if it's even possible.

Whenever the pendulum completes one cycle, a small digital clock as part of the background refreshes in an unusual manner. The second fades and the next digit slowly forms.

The modules and graphics of the bars could be a grey-to-brown fade on the bar with about a 30% transparency on the windows.

I was wondering is this theme would be too graphics-card intensive or too processor-intensive. Can it be done? Also, I think it would be pretty sexy.

With some scripting and timers this can certainly be done, yes. I must confess that I never equated "pendulum" with "sexy" before, however. =)

I guess it's just because I'm sick of all of these anime desktop themes, and want to incorporate beauty into the design. So far, here's what I see with anime skins for any program:

1. Color it up.
2. Cut and paste horse-cock happy metrosexual anime to the center-center-right of the program/backdrop.
3. Insert random Japanese characters to make people think you actually know Japanese.

No offense to the people on this site that have contributed anime LS themes to the site, I just get sick of looking at them.

For your dynamic background, you could save yourself a lot of scripting if you could find a pendulum screensaver - someone's written a module for running screensavers behind your desktop.

even better would be to make the whole clockwork visible and moving :)
Partly transparent desktop with the inside of a compact watch expanded over the whole monitor.
Quite hard to build ofcourse if you wanna make it perfect, but who'll ever know if the dials dont move quite as fast as they would in the real thing :)

and ya, screensavers exist, but it aint the same.
I agree, a moving background pendulum would be quite cool
