Hi I am trying to install a theme that is in a zip folder. I try to install the theme with OTS Theme Installer but then it gives me an error saying it could not install the theme and asks if I want to view the log file. I click Yes but it never opens a log file. Also, I have a problem with another theme, but this theme installs correctly, but when I start my computer and it loads the desktop the left side of the bottem tool bar on the desktop is completely black, so I have to recycle it to get it to be normal. I have to do this everytime I start my PC.

Why is it when someone is having a problem, they always leave out which theme they're talking about...

Anyway, off the top of my head, you're not using OTS2 themes...if you're new to Litestep, stick to only OTS2 themes, until you understand the platform.

Well the themes I was trying to install were popsicle beta and nonstep 1.11 . And the theme I was having trouble startring up with was Ghost.

As for popsicle, there's a little error in it so it won't install properly. What you can do is edit the theme.rc (yes, inside the archive) and remove the spaces at the beginning of the lines that read

otsmajorversion 2
otsminorversion 0

and just save the file to the archive again. Or, you could simply wait for the next beta version which will be available tonight or tomorrow :)

As for nonstep 1.11 I think that's a pretty old version of the theme (IIRC the newest version is 2.something) and you should try getting hold of a newer one.

Can't help you with Ghost though, never used that theme...

Ok well I installed a theme that froze my desktop, and had to revert back to Explorer Shell and reinstall Litestep, I reinstalled it, and it appears that austerity is the only theme that works. Every other OTS2 theme I use has to download the modules, but this isn't the problem, the problem is when I click ok to download them the download window freezes and I have to close the application window with task manager and go back to the default theme, austerity.

If you go into Internet Explorer and go to Tools >> Internet Options >> Connections >> LAN Setup is there something set for the proxy server?

I use mozilla firefox as my web browser, and I checked the internet explorer lan settings and nothing is set.
