I just installed LS using Omar's LiteStep Installer. But LS keeps on complaining about modules that it cannot locate even tho I can see those exact same modules at the specified location. The error-message is: 'Error: Could not locate module. Please check your configuration.' and it complains about the following modules that are apparently not in the 'I:\LiteStep\modules\' directory, even tho I can see them there in my file manager:
shortcut2-2.0.1.dll
dynamp-0.50.dll
label-1.99.dll
taskbar3-0.306_alpha-3.dll
textedit-2.4l-13.dll
vtray-1.0.6.dll
Anybody have an idea what might be the problem? All the other modules are loaded in (like ckvwm & jkey) from the same location.
Missing one of those msvcr*.dll files prob, like MSVCR71.dll etc.
Yeah, grab a copy of
Dependency Walker and open the modules that don't load with it. It should tell you exactly which dlls you're missing.
if 10000 ppl use that installer and have the same problem .. wouldnt be time to fix it ?
for me its the modules taskbar3-0.., syscolor-2.. and lsxcommand litestep complains about even they are there. Why ?
"if 10000 ppl use that installer and have the same problem"
Where are these people? Are they all using an RC3 build? And what are your figures on users that are not experiencing a problem?
There's basically 3 reasons a module doesn't load in an OTS2 theme (you are using OTS2 themes, of course?). No internet connection on the computer (or a firewall/proxy issue), the theme doesn't load it properly (wrong/missing ver# in the theme.rc), or the user's computer is missing a necessary dll.
I can only think of 1 module ever in an OTS2 theme that didn't load properly and it was the module's fault (and there's only maybe 3 themes that use that specific module - which I believe is fixed now?).
The installer has nothing to do with installing modules.
I got the same problem, already not solve with many module like taskbar, syscolor, lsxcommande ...
sure the names are correct? lsxcommande -> lsxcommand-1.9.4
etc
I'm having the same problem.
Dependency Walker gives me missing
LSAPI.DLL
DWMAPI.DLL
EFSADU.DLL
Looking into these now, I have no idea of what they are..
EDIT:
Suspected lsapi.dll to be related to litestep. It was in the litestep folder. Tried copy it to windows\system and *32 but it fucked up litestep. Wouldn't start. Perhaps it's just dependency walker which can't find it when it's located in litestep folder..
The other two seems to be related to vista?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
