Everytime I try to load a theme (I used the manual way described in o-t-s.sourceforge.net), it will have the standard litestep background, and nothing else. When i right-click it has the style the theme comes with for the pop-up menu though. Can anyone help me with this? Also, Im new to Litestep, so dont get too technical or I might get lost =p.

A lot of Litestep themes don't come with wallpapers. On occassion, there will be a theme that does come with one, but doesn't automatically install it - check in the theme's folder to see if that's the case. In any case, you can change your wallpaper the same way as you did before installing Litestep - through the Display Properties.

I tried the Display Properties, but it still stayed as the standard Litestep background. X_x Also, all the themes I downloaded I looked at previews, and all the preview pics had backgrounds. Im lost.

Themes have preview pics whether they have wallpaper or not. Give us an example of a theme you tried that you think has a wallpaper with it, and what OS are you running?

yes OS plays a big part in this. To make sure it gets set to the wallpaper you want change it to a BMP image and try.

Oh ya, that too. And if you install a theme without using the LSThemeInstaller.exe, wallpapers won't get converted to bmp, which would also make OS matter more.

Ok, Im on WIN98. The themes I have tried are Nixblue, Tymex, and Crimsonnite, and none of them would display a wallpaper. I know that the crimsonnite has a wallpaper because it is in the wallpaper folder in the the crimsonnite folder. Changing the file to .bmp didnt do anything either. Also, Im using LSthemeinstaller.

I'm assuming you "converted" the file, and didn't just change the extension?

If so, then just use the windows display properties dialog to change your wallpaper :)

easiest way would be to open the image in IE, or Mozilla, and use the Set As Wallpaper option. This will set it as a BMP and should display it AOK.
