Positioning of active window Thread last updated on 2005-09-29 13:21:06

I started customizing a theme to my own liking and to try to learn hands on about how litestep works. I've repositioned my taskbar etc., to the top of my desktop but I can't find where to go to reconfigure so that my active window ( for instance my browser) opens up justified to the bottom of my desktop as opposed to the top as is customary.

Thanks

P.S. I tried the search but it's busted

Search works fine... you just have to enter a forum first and look at the top.

As for your problem, can't you just reposition the window, close it, and reopen it - and then it opens in the new spot?

Also, if you wanted to move windows around via !bangs, there's modules like WinPlace.

Xcal, I think he meant the search on the index page of the forum.

No, when maximized the window is locked to the top like it would be in explorer. I didn't know if this was something configurable like the other stuff I moved around or if I required a plugin. There doesn't seem to be a description for this particular item in the config files that I could locate. I shall try your suggestion, Thanks.

This is what search gives me

Ahhh. I think I found it in the jdesk module in the jDeskWorkArea command. I didn't realize I could configure these files.

Thanks again for the help

Attica: I know what he meant.

As I said, the search works fine, you just have to enter a forum first (not a thread, not the index)! For example, the Themes forum, or the Modules forum etc. Go to the top of this post and click on "Themes" (the one for this forum - not the tab) to go back a step...then look at the top of your screen. :P

Inside the index, then inside a forum, but not yet inside a thread. Same busted message. :)

Don't click the "search" link... it's right out in the open! "search this forum" is filled in, right beside the "Go" button.

offtopic update: xcal, i got winplace to work with comdlgls (RESIZING!!! w00t!) now my dialogs are massive! but i had to load literunner to run !winplace on the dialogs (as comdlgls locks the bang, or something)

Thanks bro, been looking for something like this for ages :)

Heh cool, I'll have to try it with comdlgls myself. (P.S. Rabidcow, if you're reading this, I'd love to see an update to that module, it's one of my favs :D)

yeah I messaged rabidcow about the source, but no dice :( not even a reply :'(

Yeah an literunner takes like 10-20% cpu all the time (constant polling) so I dont know if I really want to use it...

ps: Sorry for Hikacking this thread :p
