Anyone know how I might accomplish this with Fatbar? Or Austerity, I am using both for now trying to decide which one I like better :)

Open up the theme.rc file in the theme's root folder, and add this to the bottom on its own line:
*jDeskMButton3 [.none;!PopupTasks;.none;.none]

Now this is just lazy.

Ya, but he has great taste in themes! :D

Ha, yea lazy is one word to use!

Thanks Xcal, and great job on Fatbar, it's pretty much my mainstay right now!

This is working perfect! As much as I like Fatbar, sometimes I like to hide the bar so I have more real estate. Windows seems pretty loopy about which task it goes to with ALT+TAB, and with 15+ tasks running it could take me 14 tries to get to the one I need. (And it usually does, go figure)

This middle button option is exactly what I needed.

Ya, that's why I put in that button to hide everything... sometimes it's just too "fat."

Don't let go of Alt :P

I have noticed something wierd with this setting, I am not sure if its due to the theme I am using now (FBL Dynamic) or something else.

What is happening is, if I hit the middle mouse button to bring up the tasks menu, the icons change as I mouse over them. It's hard to explain but lets say I have three tasks running; Firefox, File Manager and Winamp. I can see them listed in order, but if I choose say Firefox, it will actually take me to File Manager.

This behaviour doesnt happen if I right click and choose "tasks", only when I access the tasks menu via the middle mouse button.

Any ideas what might be happening here?

Ya, I've had that before (it's not theme specific - it's xpopup). Just recycling usually fixes it. Also, if you're middle clicking with a mousewheel, be sure to keep it steady when you push down. xPopup reacts to the mousewheel moving up/down by scrolling through items. (Funny... I just had the bug just now testing it out. Not sure what causes it. :P )

Glad you're checking out FBLD. I had a lot of fun with that. Just setting up styles, messing with fonts etc was fun. :D

xcal: one thing you could try is to hook xTaskbar. Then, it could be used transparently (no visual difference from xPopup, but some RC settings to mirror from xPopup) hooked within a popup. A bit more work, but it would especially be cool if grouping or other features were used, as well.

Ooo that's a great idea, thanks. Might have to do something like that with my next toy. =)

Xcal, just out of curiosity, are you using Firefox? I only see the problem when I have multiple tabs open in Firefox. I usually see this glitch about every 10 minutes or so, and closing Firefox always clears it up.

Hmm ya, I am. You might be on to something. I was just messing with opening windows to change Firefox's position on the list, and I got the error - but then couldn't make it happen again. (Oh, and ya, I always have multiple tabs open.)

what firefox versions are you using?

1.0.7 here.

1.07 here too. Isnt it strange that it only happens on the middle button pop up and not when right clicking the "tasks" popup?

Actually, that issue exists in the main !popup, too. It happens sometimes when entries are added/deleted in the \Start Menu\Programs folder (again, when items change position). I imagine any dynamic folder has the potential to do it.

I wonder if a middle click on the task icon in taskbar does anything special. May need to be tested in explorer as taskbar overrides the button clicks.
