Ok since this is a seperate discussion to my Bootscreen topic I thought it best to keep it seperate...
Basically, i'd like to know what kind of software people would want pre-installed on a machine running Litestep.
Things such as filemanagers, media players, resource editors, etc....
Just handy to add things that people want rather than have people complain at a later date that soemthing is missing, at least this way I can say "I Asked you What You Wanted?" :)
Oh yeah, link to project site would help to wouldnt it... =S

Remember if you do something like this it has to be free and the LS source code for the core, and all of the modules, must be included or linked to in the installation. Otherwise it is a violation of the GPL. Also, you must have permission to use all themes included and omar's installer, as I assume you used it.
Omars insaller wasnt used but I do intend on getting permission for Austerity, since I think its fitting to have it as the first thing a new user will see after installing.
As for modules, im putting together a readme for all modules used with related author info and contact details wheer possible so thats covered.
Litestep have a nice big Litestep.net banner behind the windows installation as well as all the original readme files and the GPL of course.
As for being free, the iso's are free to download but since it is an XP installation product key entry and activation have to be left enabled otherwise I will get sued and wont be able to use a computer for a very long time.
Source files are included as well as a docs folder with information on updating litestep without killing the machine (explorer is going to be completely wiped out eventually so it is a no turning back from LS install).
And as a side note, my graphics skills are pretty much non-existent, so anyone with the time and patience to help out with this sort of thing, their help would be greatly appreciated, as well as any theme/module authors who want their work built into the sysetm.
Yer gonna have to talk to one of the devs but I don't think that is kosher.
Since the litestep files are un-changed in any way and the source, GPL and information crediting the LS devs are included then the Litestep license is met without problems, and since product key activation is enabled the microsoft licensing is met. (unless some tard disables it and redistributes it, but that wouldnt be my problem since people do it to regular windows installations anyway)
If that aint kosher i dont know what is.
I believe you are not permitted to make money on it. But like I said...talk to a dev or two...or even wols...they know the GPL inside and out.
dont intend on making money from it, im just a hobbyist who wants to share lol
