Hello, Where can I find the module for command prompt on desktop as shown in the necross screenshot?
http://www.shellfront.org/necro/necross.gif Thank you
Actually I think it's a program, not a module. I remember using something similar for a while way back, but I can't remember what the app was called.
Actually, I don't think it is. I found Console2 over on shellfront but it doesn't support text shadows or a completely transparent background.
I got the console 2.0 as well. It is seemingly just an alternative to lsxcommand. I use lsxcommand. I like the command prompt on the desktop showing in the screenshot.
don't get the app confused with the LS module. Different things.
*goes and reads the docs*
Yup...I knew I put one in there.

I had found this program a few days ago; thank you for your time finding it though. I was pretty sure this was a module. This idea and lsxcommand are my main reasons for using litestep, now. The downfall of this program, econsole, is that it shows in the taskbar -- it can be minimized by accident and such. That is the nice thing of lsxcommand; it is always showing on desktop and isn't effected by the visibility status of other windows. Does necross have a taskbar? I do not see econsole in the taskbar. I'd like help with this idea of having something (econsole, if need be) so that it is suppressed on desktop, and I don't have to worry of cursor focus.
uhmmm...you can hide tasks in your taskbar...but making it so that it can't get focus is kinda dumb ain't it?
Sorry, my english isn't good at times. If it is econsole in the screenshot, then thank you for your help.
there were 2 apps floating around back then that did transparent command windows. I am pretty sure they were console2 and econsole, but I could be wrong. Hiding them from the taskbar is as easy as a step.rc command; but making it so you can't give the window focus is kind-of pointless, no?
Also I did fine the other...it was called console, not console2, and is found on SourceForge. Does all the fun stuff you are looking for also.
Thank you for your help. I wanted the window to always have focus when desktop is showing.
if the window has focus, and doesn't give it up, you couldn't use any other apps. Console does fade in and out and has an always on top feature though so you could get away with some pretty funky stuff.
