LS can't be started right Thread last updated on 2005-09-07 23:15:35

first of all : I'm kind of new to litestep... in fact, i'm new to litestep on winXP (home).
Second of all : I AM NOT one of those computer noobs.
¯¯¯
Now, the meaty-juicy part.
A bunch of modules don't start when litestep start as default shell. It tells :
"Could not locate module
Please check your configuration".

If I kill it (processes list) and start it again by "run" with "c:\litestep\litestep.exe" it doesn't work... with cmd neither.

To make the modules load, I have to start an explorer windows AND start litestep by going into its folder.

It's strange to me...

Maybe the solution is on this forum, but my searching skills are not so good.

List of the modules not loading :
(partial names, the titlebar truncates them)
taskbar3-0.306_alpha...
syscolor-...
lsxcommand-1...
lslnkmenu-1...

Thanks for any good willer.

EDIT : it does that with austerity... when I load a theme (minimalist : took on the wiki.litestep.com), it's other modules that don't load.

I used OMAR and updated binaries to latest RC3

Do you use a Proxy server or by chance is this machine not connected to the Internet when the theme is started?

there is a small chance that it can be not connected, it is wireless, and the first user connected, so, there is a chance.

I won't be answering for almost 18h... sleep/school/work...
This thread IS NOT DEAD.

Download all the module.zip's (manually) and throw them into
\litestep\modules\archive\

Hi

I threw them in the archive dir, like I was told... and it doesn't work best... I simply don't know why.

UPDATE:
after rebooting another time... litestep seems to boot fine...
I don't know what I did more...
Don't ask me...

Thanks anyway... maybe it was the solution, and juste logoff was not enough, needed to reboot.

Yeah, Reboot is best if you havent installed another shell before ;)

Quick fix guide... If you have this kind of errors, do this:
¯¯¯¯
- Backup/delete everything in the modules folder (don't take a chance, backup, and keep the empty folder).
- Reboot
- Download modules
- Watch litestep go okay.

If it does not work for someone else, tell me.
