I need help with updating an old theme Thread last updated on 2005-09-05 14:48:00

I have a LiteStep theme from 2000 that I want to reuse. It was uptaded for me a while ago by Omar, and worked fine. A year or so without LiteStep has gone, and now I am back. Way! But my old theme does not work with the new version of LS ^^;;

Could somebody point me to the right track, that is to say; how can I get my old theme to work?

When I changed Austerity's step.rc file to SquallStep's the comp, well ... couldn't handle it. Several error messages popped up during startup, telling me "this and that" file are missing/incorrect.

That means that you have been out of LS for more than a year. Prolly closer to 2 now.

Yup, installs and works fine on the last release/update of litestep. The theme is wharf based! weee

Who brought the Klingon back?

Who brought the what back now...? ^^;;

Xcal: you got it to work? YES! But how ...? I wonder why I am having such trouble with it. It is a good theme, isn't it? Squall is cute XD

EDIT: I see! After checking the step.rc that comes with LiteStep, I noticed that there is no shortcut.dll (for example), only newer versions like shortcut2.dll. Hmm, where can I find older .dll LiteStep files?

Install Litestep off this site using Omar's installer. Install the RC3 update. Reboot. Install the theme. Tah dah.

No reason to edit the step.rc in the Litestep root.

As for "it is a good theme, isn't it?" Well, that's all relative, and a personal thing. My personal opinion? It's only a wharf and a popup (there's not even a systray) - what's there doesn't visually match, either. Maybe if I was a FF fan (the last good one was III :D)...but I'm not. I'd never use this. There are so many better themes out there to be using these days.

Hehe; I am a big fan of FF8, to say the least ^^

I managed to fix the problemes on my own (without the RC3), though now I do have a smaller ... issue at hand.

The icons on the warfmeny; how do I extract an iconimage from the programfile itself? Instead of using an external imgaefile. I know it can be done ... I have forgotten how to do it, I'm afraid.

read the docs for the wharf.

There are no such files available; not withe the LiteStep dist. I downloaded. Could you be so kind as to put up a link to the docs in question?

Outdated, but then so is the wharf.
