Good Afternoon

Since I can't do a search nor look at the docs, I have a few questions before I use litestep. I used it once before a few years ago, but I can't remember exactly what happened.

Anyways, before I install Litestep, my current OS is Windows ME. There are user accounts set up on the machine, and I was wondering if there was a way to set it up so that Litestep would only work on one account and not others? I don't really think ME has good multi account support like 2K and XP does.

So, that's my question. Any help would be greatly apperciated.

Later,
Brandon

Windows ME does not have multi-account support period. You would need to load a shell switcher on startup.

You could try using batch files (or shortcuts) in your startup folder (if there is a startup folder that is :D)

In the ls users startup folder: C:\Liteste\litestep.exe (or whatever)
in everyone elses: explorer.exe

That might work more "seemlessly" than a shell switcher ;)
(Plus I dont think there is any reg entries that need to get changed for shells to work on 9x, right?)

ps: Also youll need to set the shell= thing in system.ini (?) to something invisible...

Yea, I thought it would be something like that, just wanted to check. Thanks for the help.
