Litestep & touchscreens Thread last updated on 2005-08-17 18:19:48

Since this is more of an idea than a request (and, since it's not necessar that an answer come of this), I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how to implement a touch-screen with litestep...

Im probably giving away my n00bness via this thread - all I know about touch screens is that they usually have specific drivers designed for them.

The idea, however, should anyone get the knack of it and have the money burning a hole in their pocket, would be to make a touchscreen media center based on windows XP/LiteStep (or, Linux/Litestep depending on how far you want to take it - though if youre doing it in Linux, odds are youre gonna have the know-how on how to make the driver anyhow).

Sorry about the long windedness, it just sorta occurred to me as I started tinkering around with old PC parts, and I thought it would be cool to do a custom car install for the fun of it.

Take care - Amejin

Firstly: "Linux/Litestep" :/ Litestep dont exist for Linux.

Some guy at devART messaged me about doing a theme for his "Custom car winXP" machine. He told me that he has an app that lets him use his touch screen with winXP, it lets him choose which mouse button he is using via a little icon in the corner (or something)

So I assume using LS on a touch screen would be as possible as most things.
Youd be able to drag stuff, and click. But no hovering (OnEnter or OnLeave) stuff.

He hasnt got back in a while but I was planning on releasing it here as a touch screen "Proof of concept" type theme, to add to the knowledge base.

I'll try and remember to post back here about any progress I make ;)

your finger would basically be functioning as the mouse, so you "clicking" on a label should work just fine, afaik. it should be relatively simple, I believe.
