No theme works, at all Thread last updated on 2005-08-15 01:19:44

I've searched the forums for about 30 min. already, and I haven't found anything that will help me, so please bare with me...

I can't change my themes to anything (the desired theme is located on wincustomize.com entitled "MacOSX RCXIII.c aka RCXIV.preview")

When I try to change themes, I get an error, and am prompted to view the log, and in the log, there is an error that states, "ERROR: decompression of theme archive failed, exiting".

Now I've tried to download one of those, um, "Litestep 0.24.7 RC3" that's what it is, and everything is fine, except, I need a password on some of the files :/ . I also tried xStep from LS-Universe.info, but they require a passowrd for some files also :\ . I know this is awefully "newb-ish", but I'm out of ideas.

Considering none of those files are hosted here I can't say much on them. In the LiteStep section of the Downloads page you can get the installer and the updated build. As for the theme though, you won't find it here. Too many ucky Apple lawsuits waiting in the wings I just don't have the time to deal with. But you can get some nice other themes here.

If you really are heart set on that theme try manually decompressing it to your themes folder and see if it will work. Some people package their themes in zip formats that don't adhere to the standard and can't be decompressed by outside apps 100% of the time.

Litestep 0.24.7 RC3 (password protected...) is from this site's download section, ABSOLUTELY NO other themes work (albiet, I only have a few) and is winrar able to extract the .lsx file?

that's .lsz, ^_^

.lsz files are just .zips renamed to .lsz.

and wtf does "Litestep 0.24.7 RC3 (password protected...)" mean???

No LS files on the net are password protected. Update your WinRAR my version: 3.30 works fine.

It sounds like something local is busted.

Just an fyi, the archive for the above theme is bad at wincustomize.com.

And there are no passwords on the litestep files here.
