hi, im just wondering is litestep only good for like themes? does it save ram and stuff? another thing, if i update from the web for window...do i have to change back to the old theme for that? what about installin software and stuff? i can do all that while in litestep theme right?

It can save RAM with a minimalist theme, but can also be much more reosurce hungry than explorer, with a feature-packed, graphics-heavy theme.

99.99% of software installs fine through LS. Installing troubles have long since been fixed. Autorun needs a module, but that's generally better disabled, anyway :).

The worst is that some of us seem to have problems with playing back video that is hard-ware accelerated (turning down hardware acceleration is the only way I know of fixing it).

really little. Actually, too little to use usefully :).

OK, the forum just isn't happy with this. Spreading it out over the accidental posts :).

Toki-doki, OTOH, is an excellent (except for static-sized systray, as that could have been made dynamically sizing even back then) example. In fact, it's still one of the best minimal themes out there.

TPlus ain't bad, either.

If you're on broadband, it wouldn't hurt to just go to the themes section here and at DeviantArt, and start downloading and installing themes :). Many themes are the same old bars, but you may find many unique themes, too.

Most of them work. For those that don't...well, remember that NT's task manager has a new task button, and in litestep\themes\themeselect.rc is the directory that is used for the current theme ("$ThemesDir$Austerity" being the default value for ThemeDir).

That was all meant as one post, but for some reason, all before "TPlus" got cut out.

For minimal, I almost forgot about Minix2!

Aside: is the forum ticky about url tags, or what? I can't seem to get more than one url= in there w/o it cutting off all before the last one!

first url and second url

Just tried two url= links, and only the second got made and that got kind of messed up. (Mouse over it and check out the link it made - I know forsure I used the proper syntax.)

huiz: You should use Omars installer, and upgrade to xStep over at http://www.ls-universe.info

xcal: I fixed your post. If you are going to put to url's in the same post you need to put the url's in quotes. Stupid design...I know. Its on the list of things to be fixed though.
